Mike Ward graduated from NC State University with a BS in Math Education. He taught mathematics and computer science in Wilson and Wayne County Schools. Mr. Ward also worked in the insurance industry as a project manager and is president and owner of Alliance Insurance Marketing, Inc. At NCS Mr. Ward teaches middle school and high school technology. Mr. Ward lives in the Cleveland Community with his wife. They have three children and six grandchildren.
Beckie Mohs was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Raleigh, NC at the age of 12. She received her B.A. in Film Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She has worked in the costume department for several professional touring theatrical productions, been a production assistant on multiple student film crews as well as a few professional films and commercials. In her spare-time she volunteers for the local theatre troupe Special Theatre Arts of Raleigh—S.T.A.R. which provides adults with special needs a creative outlet.
I earned my Bachelors of Music Education degree from East Carolina University. I was a marching pirate! After ECU, I taught in Durham county for two years and Johnston county for nine. I am looking forward to sharing music with you!
This is my first year teaching at Neuse Charter School. I am a graduate of Smithfield Selma high school and I attended Fayetteville State University. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Visual and Digital Arts in 2011. I have worked in graphic design, screen printing and Illustration.
Mr. Cervera has been a Spanish and English Teacher for eighteen years for Elementary, Middle and High School students as well in universities in the most qualified private and public schools and institutions of Barranquilla, Colombia. Also, he has worked on several projects related to writing, reading, and speaking experiences of the real world. Mr. Cervera joined the staff at Neuse Charter School as a Spanish Teacher three years ago. His main goal is to help students to improve their communications skills and involve parents, guardians and the community in this achievement. Mr. Cervera likes to share the most relevant aspects of the Hispanic culture in his classes. Mr.Cervera loves any kind of expression of arts so his main hobbies are photography and sports. ¨In my experience as a Spanish Teacher I have learned that it is very important to incorporate diverse activities related to Hispanic customs, tradition, culture, music, food and other important aspects of real life. Learning a language is more than filling out tests and repeating sentences. Students need to live the language through real activities in context. I also think that Discipline is one of the most powerful ingredients for excellence.¨

Welcome back, this is my first years at Neuse Charter School and my 9th year in education. I graduated from East Carolina University in 2008 with a B.S. in Physical Education. My first job teaching was at Cleveland Middle School. I was the Head Baseball Coach there for three years. I took a job at my alma mater Smithfield Selma High School in 2010 and became the Head Volleyball Coach and Assistant Baseball Coach. In 2012, I became the Athletic Director at SSS. In March of 2014, I became a parent for the first time when my wife Jackie gave birth to our baby girl Cameron.
